Male Breast Reduction
Request Your ConsultationWhat Causes Enlargement of Male Breasts?
Enlargement of the male breast, also known as gynecomastia, is a common condition that can affect men of any age. It can be the result of hormonal changes, heredity, disease processes, or the use of certain drugs.
What Can Be Done?
Dr. Ryan Diederich performs gynecomastia surgery, often called male breast reduction, in Glen Carbon for men from Maryville, Edwardsville, and the St. Louis area who want to reduce enlarged male breasts. He typically uses one or a combination of the following techniques:
- Liposuction: Works especially well in gynecomastia that is primarily the result of excess fatty tissue deposition.
- Excision: For men with excessive amounts of glandular tissue, excision, or a combination of excision and liposuction, is necessary.
Consultation
During a personalized consultation, Dr. Ryan Diederich will be able to provide information on which technique would be best to reach patient goals based on their anatomy. At that time, our patient care coordinators will provide a quote that will include all doctor, hospital, and anesthesia fees.
