Did you know that a “Facelift” is not an actual surgery? The reason for this is that a facelift is not the same for each person. It’s a term commonly used to combine all the individual areas that are being addressed.
Brow Lift
This option will help lift your brows to a more natural position. As we age, it’s not uncommon for our brows to start settling. This sometimes leads people to believe their upper eyelids are the problem, when actually the brows just need a little lift.
Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty
This procedure will remove the excess skin on your upper eyelids. Sometimes, this procedure can be covered by insurance if it blocks your vision. An upper blepharoplasty by itself can be done in the office with local numbing.
Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty
A lower blepharoplasty removes the loose skin and also the fat pockets under your eyes. The fat pockets may look like “bags” under the eyes so this procedure is a great option to provide a more youthful appearance to the face.
Fat Grafting
Dr. Diederich may suggest fat grafting to help provide a more lifted appearance on the cheeks. Fat Grafting can also be added to the lips, under eyes, temples, smile lines, etc. This can be used in many of the same areas filler is injected but provides a more permanent solution.
Lower Face Lift
For loose skin around the lower part of the face and towards the jawline, a lower face lift is often a good choice.
Neck Lift
A neck lift is often paired with a lower face lift to provide a tight jawline and neck area, but it can also be performed by itself. Dr. Diederich also uses certain techniques to help reduce the “double chin” area.
Personalized Assessment
When you come to MidAmerica Plastic Surgery for a consultation, Dr. Diederich will sit down with you to discuss the areas that bother you the most. He typically uses a top-down approach where he will address each area of your face and give suggestions on what he believes would best reach your goals. After your consultation, Katie will provide you with a quote so that you know the exact cost of the procedures discussed.
Consultations are scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays and Dr. Diederich is in the OR on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. There is a $100 consultation fee due at the time of scheduling that is then applied to the cost of the procedure.
Dr. Ryan Diederich is a board certified plastic surgeon. He founded MidAmerica Plastic Surgery in 2011. The practice is located in Glen Carbon, Illinois, just 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis.
