Happy New Year! With a new year comes New Year’s resolutions. What are some resolutions that you have for 2022? If getting fit and healthy is one of them, you are not alone. Many of our patients come to us asking what treatment options they have to achieve a fit physique. Even with a balanced diet and exercise, sometimes stubborn pockets of fat remain on the body and can disguise your progress. If this sounds like a problem you are experiencing, CoolSculpting® at our St. Louis-area medical spa may be right for you.
What areas can CoolSculpting treat?
CoolSculpting is a groundbreaking nonsurgical fat reduction treatment that works virtually anywhere on the body, and it’s latest technology, CoolSculpting® Elite, destroys 20% to 25% of stubborn fat cells. We introduced CoolSculpting Elite at our office last year, and you can read about it in a related blog post.
With CoolSculpting Elite, patients now have the option to target more than one area at a time. It is FDA cleared to eliminate stubborn fat pockets in nine different areas (see image below). If you are looking to address stubborn fat without undergoing surgery like liposuction, CoolSculpting Elite may be an excellent option for you.
How does CoolSculpting work?
CoolSculpting quite literally freezes and kills fat cells using a process called cryolipolysis. Targeted fat cells that are subjected to cool temperatures over a prolonged period die off without affecting any of the surrounding tissue.
When you come in for your consultation, you’ll meet with our CoolSculpting whiz and licensed esthetician, Andrea Bushrow, LE, LT. We’ll discuss with you in detail how CoolSculpting works, walk you through the treatment process, and determine what areas to treat to help you reach your goals. The treatment is usually comfortable for most patients—you can sit and relax when receiving a treatment. We even have Netflix in-office for you to watch if you wish.
How much does CoolSculpting cost?
Pricing is dependent on the area size you wish to treat. Your provider will discuss pricing with you during your consultation. If you wish to move forward with a CoolSculpting Elite treatment, we require a 10% deposit to book your appointment. This holds your time slot, and it’s applied toward your treatment cost. The remaining treatment balance is due at your first session.
Does CoolSculpting require maintenance?
Another factor to consider when it comes to CoolSculpting® is how you will maintain your results in the long run. CoolSculpting permanently removes fat cells, which means that fewer cells are available to accumulate fat in the specific treatment area. Keep in mind that without proper diet and exercise, the remaining fat cells may increase. If a healthy lifestyle is your goal, CoolSculpting may help you on your way.
